How yoga can support you far beyond flexibility, especially through the changes and challenges of midlife.

Yoga is so much more than the postures we practise in class.

In this episode, I’m joined by yoga teacher Shona Langridge for a beautiful conversation about what yoga can begin to teach us when we take the practice beyond the physical.

After 25 years in the corporate world, Shona found yoga at a time when she no longer recognised the woman she had become. What began as a physical practice eventually became a path back to herself, and ultimately changed the direction of her life.

Together, we explore how yoga can help us notice our patterns, regulate our nervous system, work with the breath, develop greater self-awareness and meet the changes of midlife with more compassion.

We also talk about why flexibility has very little to do with being “good” at yoga, the different styles of yoga available, the importance of finding a practice that meets you where you are, and why some of the most valuable yoga happens long after you leave the mat.
